You've probably heard by now, that if you are an Auto insurance policy holder in Ontario, there will be changes to your auto insurance coverage September 1st, 2010.  But, are you clear on what coverage is included in your plan today?  Before you can understand the upcoming changes and more importantly, how it will impact your lifestyle in the unfortunate event of an accident, you should become familiar with the standard accident benefits currently provided under your policy.

2. Auto Insurance Coverage for Different Types of Injuries

Injured in an auto accident?  How will your auto insurance policy respond?  After September 1st, 2010, injuries that occur as a result of an automobile accident will fall in to three basic categories.

3. Road to Recovery - Coverage for Home Care Workers Under Ontario's New Auto Insurance

Ontario auto insurance changes will affect coverage for home care workers.  Did you know that in the past, if you were injured in an automobile accident, your insurance policy would pay for up to $72,000 to cover expenses related to hiring an aide or attendant while your recovered from your injuries?  Starting September 1, 2010 when the new auto policy coverage comes in to effect, this coverage will change, and be reduced.

4. A Covered Caregiver under Ontario's New Auto Insurance

Are you a caregiver for others in your household such as children, an elderly parent or someone with a disability? You should be aware that recent changes to your auto insurance in Ontario will affect your coverage and how you are protected as a caregiver. In the past, if you were injured in an automobile accident and unable to care for dependents in your household, your policy would provide $250 per week, plus an additional $50 for each additional dependent. These benefits help cover costs related to hiring someone to care for your dependents. More importantly, benefits were paid regardless of the degree of injury you suffered. Changes are coming into effect for your auto policy when it renews, beginning September 1st, 2010. That means you now have choices to make.

 

5.  Medical and Rehabilitation Under Ontario's new Auto Insurance

Come September 1st, 2010 car insurance in Ontario will change.  Your coverage for Medical and Rehabilitation from an automobile accident is being decreased, but you have options.  This video will help educate clients and help them to make an informed choice.
