Damaged Tree Replacement Grant

Did last years tornadoes destroy your trees? Residents in the Ottawa-Gatineau region can now get grants to replace their damaged trees from last year’s tornadoes.
Tree Canada, Canada’s leading national tree charity, is supporting Ottawa-Gatineau residents replace trees lost from last September’s devastating tornadoes through its Operation ReLeaf Ottawa-Gatineau Tornadoes program, an ambitious greening initiative which provides funding to affected residents to re-plant trees on their property.
Tree Canada’s program, in cooperation with the City of Ottawa, Ecology Ottawa, the Ville de Gatineau and le Conseil régional de l’environnement et du développement durable de l’Outaouais (CREDDO), will provide up to $300 in funding to private landowners (i.e. residences, condominiums, institutional) who own/manage a property and who had individual trees destroyed by the tornadoes to plant trees on their property.
“As a member of the Ottawa-Gatineau community, we understand the devastating effects that this storm has had, and yet we marvel at how well the community has rebounded in re-building after this disaster. Throughout this process, Tree Canada will be working to help the affected neighbourhoods in Ottawa-Gatineau achieve the return to normalcy that only new trees can bring.” Michael Rosen, President of Tree Canada
